KITAS Retirement VISA
Indonesia has earned its reputation as one of the most inviting and comfortable places to live. With a splendid tropical climate, stunning natural landscapes, high-quality medical facilities, and the warm hospitality of locals, it offers everything you could desire for a carefree retirement. Fortunately, Indonesian law caters to this demographic with a special Retirement Visa.
Understanding the Retirement Visa
The Kitas retirement visa is available to individuals aged 55 and older. This visa acts as a temporary residence permit in Indonesia, initially granted for one year, with the possibility of annual extensions for up to five years. After this period, holders may apply for permanent residency. If one partner is under 55, they can apply for a dependent retirement visa, provided they have an official marriage certificate. Dependent visas are also available for children under 18.
What is a Pension Kitas?
The Pension Kitas is specifically tailored for individuals aged 55 and above, allowing them to sponsor additional Kitas visas for their spouse or children under 18, contingent upon submitting a marriage certificate.
Application Process
The processing time for an onshore Pension KITAS is approximately one month. For offshore applications, the process occurs in two stages: obtaining an e-visa for entry into Indonesia, which takes 7-10 business days, followed by biometrics collection and KITAS issuance, taking about three weeks.
